The matchbox miniatures are manufactured in Seiffen since the year 1920. Originally the matchboxes were used as a packaging for small wooden toys. Besides there is the very popular showcase version, where the small figurines and all other accessories are glued to the inside, so that you see a three-dimensionally picture when you open the box.
